Don't Assess Yourself - Sometimes You Just Need a Crack

Image
I just finished a Modern Manual Therapy Seminar for Northern Physical Therapy in Lyndonille, VT - great course and amazing participants! About a month ago, I lifted by stubborn 80# Golden Retriever into the back of my wife's SUV and "felt" a rib pain. If you follow my work, you know I don't believe in subluxations, facet dysfunction etc. I tried most of my self treatments and assessments and while I could get it feeling good in most activities. Deep breath, trunk rotation left, and heavy lifts were still 4/10 discomfort. So I sought out Northern PT's resident manual therapist expert for his opinion and treatment. Thanks to Matt Breton for the quick assessment and treatment! Breathing and rotation are better! Up to me to keep it! Sometimes You Just Need a Crack Want to learn in person? AMTA worked with leading experts , including researchers, clinicians, physicians, and massage therapy practitioners, to develop two free online continuing education courses on body mechanics and injury prevention.  AMTA's Free Self-Care Continuing Education  Self-Care for Massage Therapists: Body Mechanics 3 CE Credits A solid understanding of body mechanics—or biomechanics — gives massage therapists the tools to provide effective ...
